Solaredge Wifi Settings (metal inverter with screen)
How to Connect an Older SolarEdge Inverter (with WPS Button) to Wi-Fi
If your SolarEdge inverter has the LCD screen with buttons below it, you can reconnect to Wi-Fi using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) if your router supports it.
Step 1 – Prepare the Inverter
-
Make sure the inverter’s ON/OFF switch is OFF.
Press and hold the LCD light button for 5 seconds (release before 10 seconds).
- The main menu should appear on screen.
Step 2 – Open Communication Settings
- Use short presses (1 sec) on the LCD button to scroll.
- Highlight Communication → press and hold (3 sec) to select.
-
Scroll to Server → choose Wi-Fi.
Scroll to Wi-Fi Conf → select.
Step 3 – Use WPS Mode
- In Wi-Fi Conf, select WPS Mode.
- The display will show Waiting.
- On your home router, press and hold the WPS button until the LED lights up (check your router manual).
- Within ~30 seconds, the inverter screen should update to Connected.
Step 4 – Exit Setup
- Scroll down and select Exit.
- The inverter will now resume sending data to your SolarEdge monitoring portal.
Troubleshooting
- Doesn’t connect? Try again and make sure your router’s WPS is enabled.
- Router doesn’t have WPS? You’ll need to use manual Wi-Fi configuration (see HD-Wave guide if applicable).
