Solaredge Wifi Settings (metal inverter with screen)

How to Connect an Older SolarEdge Inverter (with WPS Button) to Wi-Fi

If your SolarEdge inverter has the LCD screen with buttons below it, you can reconnect to Wi-Fi using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) if your router supports it.

Step 1 – Prepare the Inverter

  1. Make sure the inverter’s ON/OFF switch is OFF.

Press and hold the LCD light button for 5 seconds (release before 10 seconds).

    • The main menu should appear on screen.

Step 2 – Open Communication Settings

  1. Use short presses (1 sec) on the LCD button to scroll.
  2. Highlight Communication → press and hold (3 sec) to select.
  3. Scroll to Server → choose Wi-Fi.

Scroll to Wi-Fi Conf → select.

Step 3 – Use WPS Mode

  1. In Wi-Fi Conf, select WPS Mode.
  2. The display will show Waiting.
  3. On your home router, press and hold the WPS button until the LED lights up (check your router manual).
  4. Within ~30 seconds, the inverter screen should update to Connected.

Step 4 – Exit Setup

  • Scroll down and select Exit.
  • The inverter will now resume sending data to your SolarEdge monitoring portal.

Troubleshooting

  • Doesn’t connect? Try again and make sure your router’s WPS is enabled.
  • Router doesn’t have WPS? You’ll need to use manual Wi-Fi configuration (see HD-Wave guide if applicable).
