Netatmo Thermostat Guide
Here you’ll find guides and video tutorials to help you set up, use, and troubleshoot your Netatmo Smart Thermostat and Relay.
Connectivity
How do I reconnect my Relay after changing Wi-Fi?
If you’ve installed a new router or changed your Wi-Fi password, you’ll need to reconnect your Relay.
- Netatmo Energy app → Settings > Manage my home > [Relay name] > Configure your Wi-Fi.
- Home + Control app → Settings > Manage my home > [Relay room] > [Relay name] > Configure network.
Make sure Bluetooth and GPS are enabled on your smartphone during setup.
What does “Relay not reachable” mean?
This message means the Relay cannot connect to your Wi-Fi.
Possible reasons:
- Wi-Fi password has changed.
- Router is switched off or too far away.
- The Relay has lost power.
✅ Check your router, restart the Relay, and update the Wi-Fi settings if needed.
How to reset your Relay
- Hold down the Relay’s button for 10 seconds until the LED flashes.
- Release the button — the Relay will reboot.
- Reconnect it using the app.
⚠️ Note: A reset removes saved Wi-Fi details.

How to change the temperature manually

Understanding Auto-Adapt and Auto-Care
- Auto-Adapt: learns how quickly your home heats up and takes outside temperature into account, so your home is warm at the right time.
- Auto-Care: alerts you if the Thermostat detects problems, such as low battery or connection issues.
Heating maintenance notifications
Heating maintenance notifications alert you when your heating equipment is not heating as expected.
- At the start of the heating season, if the system doesn’t turn on, you’ll receive a reminder to restart your boiler or check your heat pump.
- If your heating system fails to reach the set temperature, you’ll receive an email alert so you can quickly contact your installer.
- These notifications can distinguish between a window left open and a genuine heating fault.
⚠️ Important for heat pump users:
Due to the slower response time of heat pumps, these notifications may occasionally trigger false alerts. This is normal and not a sign of a fault — your system may simply be taking longer to reach the target temperature.
You can turn off Auto-Care notifications from the app:
Settings > My account > Personal data > Mail notifications.
Troubleshooting
The Thermostat is not responding – what should I do?
- Check if the Thermostat’s display turns on.
- Replace the batteries if needed.
- Make sure the Relay is powered and connected to Wi-Fi.
Why is my heating not turning on?
- Check that the Thermostat is set above the room temperature.
- Make sure the boiler or heat pump has power.
- Check if the Relay light is on.
- Review your heating schedule in the app.
What do the LED lights on the Relay mean?
- Steady green → Connected and working.
- Flashing green → Pairing or updating.
- Off → No power or not connected.
