π¨ Samsung Heat Pump β Emergency Hot Water (Immersion Heater)
If your Samsung heat pump develops a reoccurring fault and you canβt get hot water, you can temporarily use the immersion heater.
β οΈ Important:
- Only use the immersion if your heat pump is not providing hot water.
- The immersion is inefficient and will increase your running costs.
- This should be a temporary measure until an engineer attends.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Enter Service Mode
- On your Samsung controller, press and hold the UP (β²) and DOWN (βΌ) arrows together for ~5 seconds.
- The screen will change to Service Mode.
- (This can be fiddly β you may need to try a few times.)
2. Enter the Service Code

The screen will prompt you for a code.
Enter 0202:
- Use the Right (βΊ) arrow to highlight the digit you want to change.
- Use the Up (β²) arrow to increase the number.
- For code 0202 β change the 2nd and 4th digits to β2β.
- Once the code is correct, press OK to enter the service menu.
3. Find the Booster Heater Menu
- Press the Down (βΌ) arrow until you find Self-Test Mode.
- Press OK to enter.
- Press the Down (βΌ) arrow again until you find Booster Heater Menu.
4. Turn Immersion ON
- Press the Right (βΊ) arrow to change the Booster Heater setting from OFF β ON.
- Leave the screen on this menu.
- The immersion heater will now run continuously to provide hot water.

- Immersion ON = hot water backup while your heat pump is down.
- Use only as temporary backup.
- Running costs will be higher while using immersion.
- Contact your installer/engineer to investigate the heat pump fault.
