Emergency hot water (using the samsung controller)

Some Samsung systems have the immersion controlled via the main controller, please check this guide first: Emergency hot water

🚨 Samsung Heat Pump – Emergency Hot Water (Immersion Heater)

If your Samsung heat pump develops a reoccurring fault and you can’t get hot water, you can temporarily use the immersion heater.

⚠️ Important:

  • Only use the immersion if your heat pump is not providing hot water.
  • The immersion is inefficient and will increase your running costs.
  • This should be a temporary measure until an engineer attends.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Enter Service Mode

  • On your Samsung controller, press and hold the UP (β–²) and DOWN (β–Ό) arrows together for ~5 seconds.
  • The screen will change to Service Mode.
  • (This can be fiddly – you may need to try a few times.)

2. Enter the Service Code

  • The screen will prompt you for a code.

    Enter 0202:

    • Use the Right (β–Ί) arrow to highlight the digit you want to change.
    • Use the Up (β–²) arrow to increase the number.
    • For code 0202 β†’ change the 2nd and 4th digits to β€œ2”.
  • Once the code is correct, press OK to enter the service menu.

3. Find the Booster Heater Menu

  • Press the Down (β–Ό) arrow until you find Self-Test Mode.
  • Press OK to enter.
  • Press the Down (β–Ό) arrow again until you find Booster Heater Menu.

4. Turn Immersion ON

  • Press the Right (β–Ί) arrow to change the Booster Heater setting from OFF β†’ ON.
  • Leave the screen on this menu.
  • The immersion heater will now run continuously to provide hot water.

βœ… Summary

  • Immersion ON = hot water backup while your heat pump is down.
  • Use only as temporary backup.
  • Running costs will be higher while using immersion.
  • Contact your installer/engineer to investigate the heat pump fault.
