Getting Started with the Fox ESS App (Fox Cloud 2)
The Fox Cloud 2 app gives you full visibility and control of your solar and battery system. Follow these steps to get set up and make the most of your energy.
Step 1: Download and Log In
- Download the Fox Cloud 2 app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Open the app and either create a new account or log in with your existing details.
Step 2: Explore the Dashboard
The dashboard is your at-a-glance overview of system performance. It shows:
- Solar Generation – how much energy your panels are producing.
- Battery Status – your battery’s current charge level.
- Home Usage – how much energy your household is consuming.
- Grid Interaction – whether you’re importing or exporting electricity to the grid.
This screen is the quickest way to see how your system is performing in real time.
Step 3: Dive into the Details
Swipe right to see more detailed insights:
- Solar Generation – view graphs of your production by day, week, or month.
- Battery Status – track when your battery is charging or discharging, so you can optimise usage.
These detailed views help you understand how and when your system works best.
Step 4: Customise Your System Settings
In the Quick Settings menu, you can:
- Schedule your battery to charge from the grid during off-peak times.
- Fine-tune how your system operates for maximum efficiency.
💡 Tip: Head to the Reports section to download detailed performance logs. These are useful for analysis or troubleshooting and can be shared with your installer or energy provider.

Common Errors
44098 Write Failed : this is due to a communication error, usually down to a poor wifi signal/ internet connection
